Admissions & Records
Welcome to Admissions & Records
|The Admissions & Records office provides professional, courteous, and accurate services to students and the Pierce College community. We recognize that for many students the Admissions & Records Office is usually the first contact with Pierce College. We want students to feel that we care about them and respect and support their decision to pursue a higher education. We strive to maintain records in a manner that is properly secured to meet both federal and state privacy laws. We attempt to provide timely service in the areas of applications, registration, grades, transcripts, transfer certification, degrees, and certificates.|
Enrolling in classes via online is no longer an option.
If you want to enroll in a Fall 2015 class, you must obtain an ADD PERMIT from the instructor, and submit it in person to the Admissions and Records office by Saturday, September 12, 2015. No exceptions.

NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS
New and returning students are required to submit an application for admission before an online registration date/time is issued. Students register for classes online, not in person. Students cannot register for classes before the registration appointment time and date they are assigned; they may register only after their assigned registration appointment time. An individual who did not enroll in any school in the Los Angeles Community College District within the last two semesters is considered a returning student.
If you are a first-time college student, click here for some helpful information regarding Pierce College's counseling services.
Please note that submitting an application for admission does not guarantee that classes will be open.
Pierce College does not utilize a wait list system. The system allows students to enroll in a course through the online registration portal, on a first-come, first-served basis, the moment that a seat becomes available in the course because of a student dropping out. This option, however, is only available until the day before classes begin. After that date, interested students will need to attend the first day of class, and the instructor will give him/her a signed add card, provided that there is room in the class to add the student.
Online registration appointments are issued by the Los Angeles Community College District. The Office of Admissions & Records cannot change registration appointments.
To view your registration appointment, click here. Students who attended either the previous Fall or Spring semester at any of the LACCD campuses do not need to reapply. Continuing students can view their district-wide registration date that can be used at any of the nine campuses to enroll for classes.
YOUR STUDENT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
If you provided your Social Security Number (SSN) when you submitted your application for admission, and if there were no issues processing your application for admission, and if you are not a new concurrent high school student, you may be able to obtain your student identification number (SID) online a few days after applying. In all other cases, it may take approximately 15 business days to process your application for admission. Please note that Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, Winter, and Spring Break are not business days.
To obtain your student identification number, click here. After entering your Social Security Number, the system will provide you with your LACCD student identification number, which begins with "88." Be sure to enter your SSN in the correct field. If you know your student identification number, do not enter both your SSN and your SID.
Click here to read important course repeat and withdrawal changes that went into effect starting the Summer of 2012.
Please note that the Admissions & Records Office does not clear prerequisites. Please see individual course descriptions in the appropriate Schedule of Classes.
Feel free to attend the first day of class, and the instructor may give you a signed add permit card if space allows; you may do this even if you have applied for admission but have not received your student identification number and an online registration appointment. The add permit card will promptly need to be submitted to the Admissions & Records Office, at which time the application you submitted online will be looked up.
READMISSION FOR FALL 2015
Note: the deadline to submit a petition for readmission for Fall 2015 was April 2, 2015.
Admissions & Records will consider petitions for readmission for Spring 2016 until the deadline of October 29, 2015.
A Petition for Readmission is to be used only by students who were dismissed from any of the colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District at least one year ago and wish to attend Los Angeles Pierce College. Please note that an Application for Admission must be submitted online first.
Please fill out the PETITION FOR READMISSION FORM. Petitions that are submitted late will not be accepted.
CHANGE OF RESIDENCY STATUS
The deadline to change your residency status at the Admissions & Records for the Fall 2015 semester is: Friday, October 9, 2015, no exceptions.
Please fill out the SUPPLEMENTAL RESIDENCY QUESTIONNAIRE (SRQ), and submit it along with all supporting documents in person.
Students with an F1 Visa or who intend to obtain an F1 student visa must apply through the Pierce College International Student Admissions Office. You must download the application packet, complete all forms, gather all supporting documents, and mail them to the college.
Note: a photo ID is required to process transactions at Admissions & Records, the Business Office, Financial Aid, etc. Please note that among others, a driver's license, a state-issued identification card, school identification card, etc., are acceptable forms of ID.
