Are transcripts from other colleges or high schools required?
No. However, if a Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC) course that you wish to take has a prerequisite and you completed the required prerequisite at a college outside the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), you will need to present your official transcript at the Counseling Center. Admission & Records does not clear prerequisites. Coursework completed in high school cannot be used to fulfill prerequisites. Transcripts presented at the Counseling Center cannot be used to fulfill LAPC degree/certificate requirements, CSU Certification or IGETC Certification. If you completed coursework at a school outside LACCD and wish to use the coursework to fulfill LAPC College degree/certificate requirements, CSU Certification or IGETC Certification, sealed, official transcripts must be mailed by the college directly to the LAPC Graduation Office. The LAPC Graduation Office, and the Admissions & Records Office will not accept transcripts mailed or submitted in person by the student.
Are you having issues when registering for a class due to prerequisites that you had met?
If you receive a message stating that you have not met the prerequisite, but you either successfully completed the course at LACCD, took the assessment for that prerequisite or did a prerequisite challenge, Fill out an Online Course Request/Prerequisite Override Card, available for viewing and download as an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document File (PDF) format, and submit it to the Admissions and Records office with your appropriate original ID. If you had completed the prerequisite at any college outside LACCD, or if you had completed the prerequisite within LACCD with a different course name and/or number, please see a Counselor for assistance.
Are you a distance-learning student and are having difficulties enrolling in classes due to a prerequisite error?
Fill out an Online Course Request/Prerequisite Override Card. Using your LACCD e-mail, send the Online Course Request/Prerequisite Override card to firstname.lastname@example.org We cannot process the course request if the email is sent from a personal email account. If the prerequisite(s) has/have been met, and you do not have holds on your account, you will be enrolled in the requested course. If the course is full, you will be placed on the waiting list. In any case, you will receive a confirmation email from Admissions and Records within two business days after the e-mail is received by our office. Please be aware that Admissions and Records is not available to provide you with the partial status of a course request.
Are you unable to enroll in a class because you exceeded the maximum units allowed?
Please see a counselor to request to enroll in more than the unit limit. To see a counselor, visit the counseling office directly, or make an appointment.
Did you recently make an online payment and you still have holds on your account?
Please visit the Business Office and present proof of your payment. The Business Office will remove your holds.
If you have received two different student IDs (88XXXXXXX and 9000XXXXX).
The Admissions and Records Office is currently working on your records. We are going to send you an email confirming your official ID number.
