Roxanne Demik

Roxanne graduated from Westchester High School in 1967. She attended Pierce College 1967-1969. While at Pierce she competed in volleyball, softball, basketball, and track. At the time, she held the Junior College High Jump record at 4’11”. She transferred to BYU in 1970, where she competed in volleyball and track. She later attended CSUN, where she again competed in volleyball and track.

From 1970-1976, she was a USVBA First Team All -American. Roxanne was a six time member of the USA National Volleyball Team, competing in the World Cup Games, the Pan American Games, and the Olympic Qualifying team in 1972. In 1972, she went to the Olympic Track trials clearing 5’7” in the High Jump.

After her athletic career came to an end she started her teaching/coaching career. Coach DeMik taught at Reseda High School for 3 years, where she coached Volleyball, Softball, and Tennis. She then on took a position at Mira Costa College for 14years,where she coached two State Championship teams in Women’s Volleyball. She was honored by being voted the community college “Coach of the Year” 5 times.
