Elia Petrosian

The seeds of success on the field were sown early in Elia's life when at age four she began to play soccer. Elia attended Montclair College Prep High School where she was coached by Ken Erenberg. While playing two seasons for their women’s soccer team Elia broke and still holds the school record for most goals scored. Season ’03-’04 she was MVP of the team and 1st team all league as well as becoming ’04-’05 1st team all league, 2nd team all CIF, MVP of her team and senior year captain.

The club teams she joined took her to the highest levels of soccer including Samba Gold with William Diaz and Westside Breakers Premier with Jason Kelly. After graduating high school, she attended Pierce College and joined the winning Brahma Women's Soccer program. Pierce College was the right place for her both athletically and academically.

During her time as a Brahma under the coaching of Adolfo Perez and Tony Ortega, she became a stronger player and eventually captain of the team ’06. She won the titles of Pierce College MVP ’05, MVP offensive player ‘05&’06, first player in Western State Conference history to be Player of the Year back to back ‘05&’06, all time leading scorer of Pierce College in goals and points and All-American runner-up ‘05&’06,and Far West All-American ‘06. With these accomplishments and coaching from Adolfo, Tony and her dad, she was offered multiple scholarships. The invitation to play in D1 schools made her feel accomplished as a player and thankful for everything that all her coaches had done for her.

Although she did not continue her soccer career, knowing that all the hard work and years of nonstop practice paid off, was her biggest win. She is continuing to apply the Brahma spirit and dedication that brought her success on the field

to her academic and professional life as she pursues her dream of becoming an attorney. Elia truly believes that the drive she put forth to become an accomplished athlete is what will continue to carry her into a successful future.
