Steve graduated 1983 from Chatsworth High School.His senior year he had led his team to the 1983 City Championship. Steve pitched at Pierce 1985, then he went to Lewis-Clark College. He signed with the San Francisco Giants in 1988, as an undrafted free agent.

Steve made his Major League debut on August 30,1992 with the Giants. That was the start of what was to be a fourteen year Major League Career.During his illustrious career he played for San Francisco, Colorado, Cleveland, Atlanta, San Diego, New York Mets, and Baltimore.

Steve aappeared in 833 games, with an overall record of 49-44. His career ERA was 3.63. His success on the field has led him being ranked 37th All-Time for number of games played in by a pitcher. Thatís an amazing stat for someone who was not drafted by any Major League team.

Steve now lives in Colorado, and among other activities, works for the Rockies in the Community Relations Department.
