Gerald Peeke

Gerald Peeke was born on July 12th, 1952 in Portland, Oregon to Dr. George and Dorothy Peeke. His family moved to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in 1955 where he attended elementary and Jr high school. He then attended Palos Verdes High School from 1966-1969 where he played football, wrestled, and ran track. After high school, Gerald was recruited by Erwin Goldbloom to wrestle for Pierce College from 1970-1971 where he also played football. After Pierce College, Gerald attended UCLA, on a football scholarship from 1972-1976, continued to wrestle, and received his degree in Kinesiology. During that time, Gerald tried out for the Oakland Raiders for two seasons, was the assistant defensive line coach for the Bruins, and coached Football and wrestling at PV High School. He also modeled and acted in a few TV commercials until he married Teresa Allen of Palos Verdes, in 1977, and then went on to receive his teaching credentials in P.E. and health education. Shortly thereafter, Gerald moved his family to Estacada, Oregon where he taught Jr. high, and high school math, and P.E., and coached Varsity Football, wrestling, track, and weight lifting. Gerald then moved his family back to Southern California in 1981, where he started a career selling Snap-on tools, and still does to this day. Gerald’s hobbies include Coaching Football and wrestling, restoring muscle cars, fishing, hunting, and weight lifting.

Gerald’s personal and professional achievements include snap on tools franchise owner 1982- present, top branch in region, and nation, and a 2002 ranking of #3 in the world. He was also a member of the national dealer advisory from 2002-2003, and had his picture in Snap-on annual reports, tool catalogs, and appeared in several Snap-on promotional videos. In 1974 he wrestled in the heavyweight class for the US National Wrestling Team vs USSR. In 1988 he defeated world champ arm wrestler in a practice bout. In 1998, he bench pressed 525 lbs., squatted 635 lbs., and dead lifted 565 lbs. for a total of 1725 lbs., at the age of 45. In 1990 -1992, Gerald coached a Pop Warner Football team to multiple undefeated seasons with a 1990 Pop Warner Football Championship, and in 1997, he coached on the Peninsula High football team which had an undefeated season, winning the Div. II CIF championship.

Gerald Peeke is husband to the former Teresa Allen of Palos Verdes, father to Dreena Peck, Amy Bennett, and David and Andy Peeke, and a Grandfather to eleven grandchildren.
