Women's Soccer: 2007 Western State Conference Southern Division Champions!!

For the fifth time in 7 years, the Pierce Women's Soccer team captured the WSC Southern Division Championship under Head Coach Adolfo Perez. Advancing to the Southern California California Regional Playoffs for the seventh year in a row; they faced  Cypress in the first round losing to them 2-1 to be eliminated from the playoffs and ending the season with a 17-2-5 record.

Patricia Garcia was awarded the Western State All-Conference Player of the Year First Team All-Conference was awarded to Allsion  Fass, Elizabeth Salguero, Jamie Doyen, Heather Painter, and Natasha Jackson. Second Team All-Conference was awarded to Mia Swafford, Lindsey Liggera, Samantha MIles and Rocio Abundez with Kimber Oborn and Amanda Bernal receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Women's Volleyball- 7th Western State Conference Championship in a Row!!!

The team's final record for the year was: 26-4. Under Coach Nabil Mardini  the team holds a record of 144 wins to 30 losses.  More than an 80% winning record. Ashley Lugo-Brown was named Player of the Year. First Team All-Conference was awarded to Janet Alvarado, Tara Henn and Sandra Posada. Second Team All-Conference was awarded to Savannah Thomas, Jenna Novelli and Terry Soltani. Honorable Mention was awarded to Brittany Sousa and Vanessa Murray.

Football- 2007 Season

Under new Head Coach, Efrain Martinez, Pierce Football finished the year with a 5-5 record with a record number of players moving on to 4 year schools.

Quarterback, Alex Pettee was named WSC Offensive Player of the Division.  2007 All Western State Conference Northern Division 1st Team Offense was awarded to: Michael Cooper and Alex Pettee. Second Team Offense was awarded to Nick Madia, Monroe Ross, Edward Gomez and Brad Borreson. Honorable Mention Offense was awarded to Eric Banuelos, Randy Lemus and Matthew Johnson.

 2007 All Western State Conference Northern Division  First Team Defense was awarded to Stephen Johnson with Jeremiah Brown, Rodney Fritz, Chaz Russell and Brad Borreson receiving Second Team Defense. Brandon Patterson, Sebastian Scott and Chris Sandoval received Honorable Mention Defense.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL-2007

Congratulations to Head Coach Eddie Stanislawski for being selected as Western State Conference Coach of the Year.  The season ended with a 14-5 record with the team losing to Irvine Valley 2-3 in the semifinals of the State Championship.  Irvine Valley went on to defeat Long Beach 3-2 for the State Championship. Joe Padapolous was names to the All State Tournament team.
The following players were named Western State First team All Conference: Rory Brandt, Kyle Luongo and Joe Papadapolous.

Second team All Conference
was awarded to: Ryan Duncan, Terry Galbreath and Joseph Landry.

SWIMMING- 2007

The Women's team ended the season with a 3-3 record. At the Western State Conference Championship the women's team placed 4th.
Jessica Chen
and Deborah Hefter were both named All-American for placing 1st in their respective events at the State Championship at Ohlone College.

The Men's team finished 1-5 for the season and 7th at the Western State Championship.

Marcus Bolder
won the Men's diving Championship at the Western State Championship and placed 11th in the 3-meter dive and 10th in the 1-meter
dive at the State Championship.

TENNIS-2007

Tennis finished the season with a 2-8 win-loss record. The #1 Doubles team of Long Dao and Noushad Simno advanced to the regionals for the State Championship.

 

BASEBALL: 2007 Western State Conference Southern Division Champs!


Pierce ended the season with a 29-17 record, capturing the Western State Conference Southern Division championshipThe team advanced to the first round of the  Southern Regional playoffs hosting Riverside College (28-16) losing 2 out of the 3 games played.

Coach Bob Lofrano was selected as WSC Coach of the Division. Dan Heller was selected Player of the Division and Daniel Berlind was chosen as Pitcher of the Division.

The following players were selected as WSC Southern Division First Team All Conference: Ryan Platt, Cameron Collard, Dan Heller and Daniel Berlind.

Second Team All Conference was awarded to : Mike Notaro, David Fonseca, Andrew Tapia and Calvin Culver.

Honorable Mention All Conference was awarded to: Dan Soles and Steve Notaro.

WOMEN'S SOFTBALL-2007

Softball ended the season with a 5-35 win-loss record. Three of the players were named All-conference Honorable Mention.



WOMEN'S BASKETBALL 2007-2008

Emmilee Ringelberg was awarded 1st Team All Conference and Rachelle Tan received Honorable Mention. Congratulations!!

Scholarship News: Brittany and Tiffany Henderson were awarded matching scholarships to New Mexico State University.
