Student Olympian Award

In 2017, the Los Angeles Pierce College Kinesiology Department created an annual award to honor an outstanding Kinesiology Student. The recipient of this award will receive a department gift and recognition at the Student Awards Brunch at the end of the Spring Semester.

As the name suggests, this honor is awarded to a student who has demonstrated exceptional attitudes and behaviors that decorated Olympians possess and many of us hope to achieve. The Kinesiology discipline values and promotes peak physical performance and optimal health. Upon deeper analysis, one would discover the world-class intellect and passionate spirit of the Kinesiologist.

The LAPC Kinesiology Student Olympian demonstrates one or more of the following attributes:

• Exceptional commitment to the Kinesiology discipline and college community
• Engaged and respectful disposition in physical activity and health settings
• Resilience in the face of adversity
• Outstanding academic achievement

Applications will be reviewed, and the winner will be determined by a majority vote of the Kinesiology Department Faculty. The recipient will be notified electronically and invited to attend the Student Awards Banquet.
