Statway

Statway:  Statistics Pathway - 2 and through!

Take two semesters of Statway and you are done with your transfer Math requirement!  In the traditional math pathway you would have to take Math 115, Math 125, and then a transfer level math course. Statway is an alternative to that path.

Statway is an exciting Statistics pathway for students who are liberal arts, humanities, and social science majors. (NOT for Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or Nursing majors). 

If you are eligible for Math 115 Elementary Algebra then you are eligible for Statway. 

In Statway, you will learn how statistics applies to your life. Faculty, tutors, and advisors will work together to help you succeed. Statway is right for you if all of the following are true:

• You ARE a social science, humanities, liberal arts, or related major.
• You are NOT a science, technology, engineering, math, business, or Nursing major.
• You are eligible for Math 115.
• You have good reading skills.

• Check www.assist.org to see if Math 228B (the second semester of Statway) satisfies the math requirement for your major.
• Psychology majors placing into math 125 are advised to take Math 125 and then Stat 1 (not Statway and not Math 227).

Statway students engage in classroom activities that introduce statistical concepts and skills. Students learn the required mathematical ideas and skills in the context of learning statistics.
