Welcome Pierce Students!
This page will give you an introduction to what you can expect of your coach-accompanists, and what we will expect of you. The coach-accompanist positions in the Performing Arts Department are currently vacant. All rehearsals are booked online.

We need music for the songs you sing and the pieces you play. The best kind of score you can provide is a "piano-vocal" arrangement of a song, or a full score of the instrumental piece. You can find most music online nowadays, and although a lot of music is free, you should be prepared to pay for the music. If a piano-vocal version of a song isn't possible to get, we can also read from lead-sheets, in which case a YouTube link to a performance of the song is very helpful. You can either email a PDF of your music or bring a paper copy in loose sheets. Here are some good websites to check for sheet music:
http://www.musicnotes.com (this website often allows you to choose your key before printing)
We rehearse in practice rooms "J" and "L" here, in the same building as the Music Office and the Library. Come early and bring something to record the session. It can be very helpful to have a recording of the accompaniment for you to work with at home. Come as prepared as you can; you will get the most out of a rehearsal if you have your music and words memorized.
