Academic Affairs

Pierce > Offices > Academic Affairs :

Welcome to Academic Affairs.

The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for all instructional and educational activities at the college. This would include high school outreach, the student learning resource center, Honors Transfer program, older adult non-credit education, computer and information Technology services, Program review and Accreditation, New Buildings and Classroom Renovation Projects, Athletics, visual and performing arts events, the Annual Deans Tea, the Job Placement and Career Day Faire, as well as many college-wide programs and grant-funded programs.

The Office of Academic Affairs is also given the task for ensuring curricular program compliance with the standards and policies of the California State Department of Education, the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles Community College District and various national accrediting agencies. Activities of the office focus on curriculum development and improvement, the creation of new programs, the appointment/reappointment of faculty and faculty development.

Through the work of our deans, department chairs, and program directors we try to guarantee students a breadth and depth of classes in academics, job training and lifelong enrichment. Come and visit Pierce College and explore the various divisions of Academic Affairs.
