Who can use the services at Career Center?
You must be an enrolled student at Los Angeles Pierce College to use our services at the Career Center.
I'm a student and looking for a job, can you help me?
If you are looking for a job, please register with our online jobs board, Brahma Jobs. Instructions and access to register for BrahmaJobs can be found on the Find a Job/Internship page.
I am undecided about my major or career can you help me?
The career center has many recourses to help you begin exploring what major is best for you:
- Use our Career Exploration Research Sheet to begin your exploration. We provide self-assessments that help you understand your interests, values, and skills on your own.
- Use our Major Exploration website to learn the variety of jobs a specific major can lead to.
- The counseling department offers Classes and Workshops that can help you with choosing a major and career path.
- If you are still confused about your major or job after the self-directed search, then you can make an appointment with a Career Counselor.
Am I able to borrow any of the materials at the Career Center?
No, unfortunately the books and materials in the center need to stay in the center, but you are welcome to use the materials whenever the center is open. Also, there are many Online Resources that you can use from the comfort of your home.
Where can I find detailed information on occupations, salary, job outlook, and trends?
You can use Eureka, California Career Zone and a variety of Online Resources, including professional associations, to learn more about specific occupations. We also have lots of print resources in the Career Center with this kind of information.
I heard I can take some tests to help me find out which major or job I should chose, is this true?
We offer assessments that help you discover your interests, values, and skills and how they apply to the world of work. We have self-assessments that you can do on your own and we also offer more in-depth assessments as part of Career Counseling.
