HEERF II

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) is authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA), Public Law 116-260, signed into law on Dec. 27, 2020 to provide support for education to ensure learning continues for students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC) received $3,847,398 in direct aid for students. The campus also allocated a portion of its institutional HEERF funds to direct aid for students.

HEERF II Emergency Funds are intended to assist those experiencing financial hardship due to unforeseen/unexpected/urgent events related to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Since March 17, 2021, LAPC distributed $3,648,500 to 7,297 students during the spring 2021 semester.

The following criteria was used in making one-time block grant disbursements to students during spring 2021:

  • Actively enrolled for spring 2021 at home college (at the time of determination of March 8, 2021)
  • Awarded the CA College Promise Grant (CCPG)
