Financial Aid Disbursements
Disbursement dates and deadlines are determined by Federal, State, District and/or institutional regulations and policies. The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) has partnered with BankMobile, a financial services company focused on higher education to deliver your financial aid refund. Students who are new to the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) will receive information by mail and email from BankMobile regarding the process to select their refund/disbursement preference. For more information visit the BankMobile website. AB540 students who receive Cal Grants will receive their financial aid refund by paper check. Students receiving a refund from a federal student loan have the right to cancel their loan. Contact the Los Angeles Pierce College Financial Aid Office for details on loan cancellation.

LACCD schedule financial aid disbursements throughout the academic year. Disbursements will be adjusted if enrollment increases or decreases. Payment for late-starting classes cannot be issued until the class begins. After the second disbursement date of each semester, no further award adjustments can be made based on late enrollment, with the exception of short-term classes that start after the second disbursement date and winter classes.*
Students are encouraged to logon to the Student Information System (SIS) to view their financial aid award information. Students with an approved Financial Aid Extension Petition must be enrolled in approved units to be eligible for financial aid refund.
Please note: "Disbursement" does not mean "Refund". "Disbursement" means the financial aid awards have been applied to your student account. "Refund" means the credit balance owed to you will be sent to your selected refund preference with BankMobile.
Any outstanding institutional debt will be deducted from your financial aid refund. If you have not authorized LACCD to automatically deduct any outstanding balances (institutional debts) from any funds that you will be receiving, college services may be withheld. This includes disbursement of financial aid funds. There will be a delay if you have not selected your refund preference.
The District retains the right to reverse your refund from your selected refund preference with BankMobile if you never attend class(es) or found to be ineligible for a refund of financial aid. You may not receive financial aid for remedial coursework beyond the initial 30 attempted remedial units.
In accordance with federal refunds and repayment regulations, if you completely withdraw from all of your classes after receiving your financial aid you may be required to repay all or a portion of the financial aid you received. Failure to repay these funds will result in the loss of future financial aid at any institution. Go to Return to Title IV web page for complete details.
If you audit a class, you are not eligible to receive a California College Promise Grant (CCPG), formerly known as fee waiver, or any other financial aid for this course. You are solely responsible for the payment of fees associated with audited classes. It is the student's responsibility to drop classes (including zero-unit classes such as tutoring or workshops).*Courses taken during the winter session are defined as short-term courses. Student must complete the short-term courses that start after the second disbursement date to be eligible for disbursement.
