GAIN/CalWORKs Program

Welcome to the GAIN/CalWORKs Program!  Our program serves all CalWORKs students attending Pierce College. A variety of services designed to support your educational, career and personal goals is offered, including:

• Orientation
• Case management and coordination with GAIN services
• Advocacy for County-, child care- and college-related concerns
• Student Education Plans
• Coordination with other Pierce College Student Services programs
• Assistance obtaining GAIN-paid books and supplies, tools, uniforms, fees
• Work-study opportunities
• Child care in the campus Child Development Center for eligible children
• Activities to help meet the GAIN weekly participation requirement
• Self-advocacy skills development
• Academic counseling
• Completion and certification of required GAIN and Child Care Resource Center forms and documents
• Referrals to community agencies for legal, personal counseling, domestic violence and social services
• Informative workshops
• Post-employment services
• Post-time limits services
