Level 3 Probation
What does it mean to be on Level 3 Probation?
You have placed on LEVEL 3 Probation, this means this is your third consecutive semester on either academic and/or progress probation.
How did I get on Level 3 Probation?
Our records indicate that you have been placed on Level 3 of Academic and/or Progress Probation. For the past 3 consecutive semesters, you have maintained a cumulative grade point average below 2.0 and/or the cumulative percentage of units in which you have been enrolled has reached or exceeded 50% for grade entries of “W”, “I”, and “NP”. For that reason you are now subject to dismissed from Pierce College.
Can I appeal my dismissal?
You have the right to appeal the dismissal if you feel that you have legitimate reason(s) and/or mitigating circumstance(s) to justify your poor academic performance. You are also required to submit valid documentation along with your appeal to support your mitigating circumstance(s). Appeals can be submitted to the Admissions & Records Office. THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT DISMISSAL APPEALS FOR THE FALL 2017 SEMESTER HAS NOW PASSED.
What can I do to get off probation?
Getting off probation requires strategic planning, to best assist you in the process, first we recommend you complete the online Probation Workshop. After completing Part 1: Probation Overview, you will be directed to complete Part 2: College Success Tutorials. Please print the confirmation pages at the end of each module to confirm your completion of both workshop modules. You will be asked to show the confirmation pages by the probation counselor during your 30-minute appointment.
Once you have completed the online Probation Workshop, follow up with a 30-minute counseling appointment with either Alan Bram or Diane Orellana, located in the Counseling Center (SSB, 1st floor). Click below to schedule your probation appointment today!
