Reinstatment of Disqualified Students
I was dismissed from Pierce College and would like to register for classes, what steps do I need to take?
Students who have been disqualified (dismissed) from Pierce College for poor academic performance or unsatisfactory progress and who have been away from Pierce College for one academic year (2 semesters) must apply for readmission. The student shall submit a Readmission Petition Form to the Admissions and Records Office by the deadline. The following steps are required for the Readmission Petition process:
STEP 1. Apply online Pierce College Admission Application.
STEP 2. Students will receive a Readmission email within 10 business days after the application has been submitted. If 10 days have passed since submitting an application and you have not received a Readmission email from the Admissions and Records Office, please visit them at the Student Services Building, 1st floor; or call them at (818) 719-6404.
STEP 3. Meet with a readmission counselor. A printout of the Readmission email is required and must be brought to your counseling appointment. All students seeking readmission must meet with either Alyce Miller-Fleming or Diane Orellana in the Counseling Office located in SSB, 1st floor. Appointments are required of all students seeking readmission to Pierce College. The counselor will provide the student with a Petition for Readmission form and determine the maximum number of units the student will be allowed to enroll for the upcoming term.
STEP 4. Students must submit the Petition for Readmission to the Admissions and Records Office no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of the semester. No late petitions will be accepted.
