What is Faculty Staff Development?
Professional Development refers to "activities to enhance professional career growth." Yet the practical definition of Professional Development encompasses formal and informal means of helping faculty, staff, and administrators develop new insights into teaching and learning, improve college practices, and explore new or advanced understandings of content and resources in an effort to improve the pedagogical environment.
Faculty Staff Resource Center
The students have the Freudian SIP and the faculty/staff have the Faculty Staff Resource Center, located underneath the Library in Room 1 of the Library Bldg. There are many services available such as: Computers (MAC & PC), fax machine, scanners, 35mm slide scanner, printer, Multimedia cart, DVD player, TV, video capability, conference-calling, and a conference area. Check us out!. Hours of operation: Monday - Thursday: 8am -10pm, Friday: 8am- 4pm and Saturdays by request.
Faculty Staff Development Coordinator
It is the responsibility of the Professional/Staff Development Coordinator to coordinate, document, and report the professional growth and development of the faculty, staff and administration at Pierce College This is accomplished through various means, such as developing workshops, technological training, instructional improvement activities, professional development days, and supervising the Faculty Staff Resource Center.
