  Welcome to the Service-Learning Program

Are you interested in contributing to the betterment of your community
AND earning academic credit at the same time?

Would you like to gain valuable experience related to your class work?

Do you want to improve your resume and professional skills?

Seek to enhance your university transfer application?

Pierce College's Service-Learning Program provides you with these opportunities!

Service-Learning is an innovative educational program joining students, faculty, and the community via volunteer service.  Students participate in thoughtfully organized service projects that meet actual community needs.  These activities are coordinated with faculty and integrated into each student's academic curriculum.  The community gains resources and services that would otherwise be unavailable.  And student participants earn extra academic credit.  A classic "win-win" situation for all involved!

Many college students find that "experience teaches best."  Service-Learning helps put the pieces together by joining "real life" experience with course material.  Service-Learning extends education beyond the classroom by helping the community... an enriching experience rewarding all participants.
