Our Mission

The Mission of the Economic and Workforce Development Department at Pierce College is to serve the business community by providing services for improving workforce skills for all levels in order for businesses to become more productive and competitive in a global marketplace.


Company Summary

Services that we deliver to our community include but are not limited to the following:

*          Customized Training/Contract Education (see link for examples) We offer solutions for any size company. Training can be provided for convenience at your company's site, on the college campus, or at our off-campus Pierce Business Center. Customized on-line training is also available.

*          We also offer more than 200 classes in on-line training to serve your employees needs for obtaining training at their own convenience.

*          Interpreters/ translators are available in over 150 different languages.

*          Pre-Employment Testing and Evaluation for prospective employees

*          Administering of current testing or construction of new tests.

*          Evaluation of company employee screening materials.

*          Assessment of employees.

*          Special Classes in areas such as Harassment Prevention and Security Guard Training to meet new California State laws.

In addition, the Department operates the Pierce Business Center, an off-campus site located in the City of Chatsworth on the 2nd floor of the Build WorkSource Center at 20500 Nordhoff Street.

This Center provides a variety of nationwide computer-based testing in areas including:

ASE – Automotive Service Excellence (Mechanic Certifications)
CDR-ADA
– Dietetic Certification/Registration – American Dietetic Association
NMTCB – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
ASWB – Association of Social Work Board
