How to Register for Classes


ONLINE REGISTRATION -ADD/DROP CLASSES

Students are able to enroll in classes on or after their appointment date. Appointment dates are available in the student portal, in the Reg Date & Deadlines link located on the right bottom part of the main page.

Students are able to enroll in class using their student portal until the Sunday prior the start of the course.

HOW TO ADD A CLASS

  • Click on Academics Menu in the Menu bar.
  • Click on Add Class
  • Select the term and click “Continue”.
  • Type the class (five digits) number in the “Class Nbr” field.

If you wish to search for a class

  • Select Pierce College in the “Campus” field.
  • Click on “Select Subject”.
  • Select the course subject in the alphabet.
  • Type the course number in the “Course Number” field.
  • Click on the “Search” green button.

To review the course requirements and schedule of that class

  • Click on the class number blue link.
  • Once you confirm you meet the requirements to enroll in that particular course, on the bottom page, click on the “Select Class” button.

If the class is open (green circle next to it), click “Next”.
Click the “Proceed to Step 2 of 3” button.
Click the “Finish Enrolling” button.
You will see the class status in the next screen
Review your schedule to confirm you are enrolled in the class.

If the class is full and have a waiting list available (yellow triangle next to it), click “Next”.
Check the “Wait List” box and click “Next”
Click the “Proceed to Step 2 of 3” button.
Click the “Finish Enrolling” button.
You will see the class status in the next screen, including your position number on the waiting list.

  • On the first day of the term attend the class and ask the professor for approval to enroll. If approved, you will receive a permission number to enroll with that permission number using the student portal. The enrollment must happen before the deadline to add/drop classes.
  • You are required to empty your shopping cart BEFORE you start enrolling in class using your permission number.

  • Click on Academics Menu in the Menu bar.
  • Click on Add Class
  • Select the term and click “Continue”.
  • Type the class (five digits) number in the “Class Nbr” field.
  • Type your permission number in the “Permission Number” field and click “Next”
  • Click the “Proceed to Step 2 of 3” button.
  • Click the “Finish Enrolling” button.
  • You will see the class status in the next screen
  • Review your schedule to confirm you are enrolled in the class.

HOW TO DROP A CLASS

  • Click on Academics Menu in the Menu bar.
  • Click on Drop Class
  • Select the term and click “Continue”.
  • Check the box next to the class you would like to drop from.
  • Click on “Drop Selected Classes.
  • Confirm in the next screen that you are dropping from the correct course (if the class is full and you drop from it, you will not be able to enroll back)
  • Click “Finish Dropping”
  • The drop status will show up in the next screen.
  • Review your class schedule to confirm you have dropped from the class.
  • It is the students’ responsibility to adhere to deadlines.
