Pierce College Art Gallery

The Pierce College Art Gallery was founded in 1968 to support the curriculum of the Department of Art and Architecture. Over the years, the bones of the gallery haven’t changed much, but the exhibitions have shifted to reflect the demographic changes of the greater Los Angeles area and Southern California. Tucked away in a quiet spot on the sprawling campus of LA Pierce College, you’ll find this bright space. It consistently launches shows ranging from LA Yarn Bombing artists who drape the resident bull mascot in colorful crocheted yarn, to works from Peter Liashikov, to our recent exhibition with Erika Lizée. Quite frankly, the Pierce College Art Gallery could well be the San Fernando Valley’s best kept secret. But, that secret may be out because it was called out in August of 2018 when it was voted in the top 15 Best College Art Galleries in Southern California by LA Weekly. Even with this newfound visibility, the gallery will always remain free to the public.
