Welcome to the homepage for the Psychology Department at Pierce College. Psychology is a fascinating field which seeks to examine behavior and mental processes. Within the discipline of Psychology, there are many subdisciplines that attempt to explain specific aspects of behavior and mental processes. Some of these disciplines include, Biological Psychology, Sensation and Perception, Consciousness, Learning, Memory, Cognition and Language, Intelligence, Human Development, Personality, Motivation, Emotion, Health Psychology, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Clinical Psychology. Please refer to the Pierce College catalog for a listing of Psychology courses offered and their descriptions. Additionally, you may refer to the semester's schedule of classes to see which courses will be offered during the current term (available on the Pierce College website).

If you decide to major in Psychology, please click on the assist.org link to the left to determine which courses count towards the major at your UC or CSU transfer school of choice. You should also make an appointment with a counselor at Pierce and seek out a faculty member in the Psychology department for assistance with this process.
