VETERANS COUNSELING

Vets Counseling

The Veterans Certifying Counselor(s) in the Pierce Counseling Office work in partnership with the Financial Aid/Veterans Office to ensure that you are making progress toward your academic goal and satisfy the requirements of the VA so that you receive your benefits in a timely manner.

To make your transition to Pierce College, we recommend you follow these steps:

Visit the Los Angeles Pierce College Veterans Services Office and email @email to determine your eligibility and the steps to receive VA benefits at Pierce College. If you do not want to receive VA Benefits at Pierce College, skip to Step 2.

You have 2 options to schedule an appointment:

Option 1: If you are not using VA benefits at this time:

Please schedule an appointment with a Counselor. You do not need to meet with a Veterans Counselor.

Option 2: If you want to receive VA benefits at Pierce College:

Schedule an appointment with a Veterans Counselor to complete an educational plan.

Schedule a Veterans Counseling Appointment

  • During the appointment, please provide supporting documents such as unofficial transcript(s). An educational plan will be completed specifying the courses to complete at Pierce College to meet your academic goal. The VA will only pay for the courses on this plan.
  • Each semester after you have enrolled in your courses, if you want to continue to receive VA benefits, please email @email. They will determine if the courses are consistent with your educational plan because the VA will only pay for the courses on this plan.
  • You will only need to complete one educational plan while enrolled at Pierce. However, if you change your educational goal, you will also need to complete a new Educational Plan with a Veterans Counselor.
