HTP Requirements/Curriculum
Faculty Requirements
As an HTP Faculty member, you can encourage high achieving students to apply for the Honors Transfer Program. For educational planning and career advising, students will be encouraged to consult with a Counselor. HTP students participate in Annual HTCC Student Research Conference for California Community Colleges.
Requirements to teach an Honors Course
- Greater depth and breadth of topic coverage
- Activities to enrich topics
- Writing in the content area
- Encouraging students to take initiative
Requirements to offer an Honors Course
Approval by the Curriculum Committee. Not every course is offered every semester. Not all disciplines are offering honors courses. HTP has its own departmental allocations for course offerings. The course offerings are based on major prep courses and IGETC areas.

- Commit to attend meetings in the months of May and October.
