Housing & Public Transportation

Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC) is located in the affluent suburb of Woodland Hills, California. Like most two-year colleges, LAPC does not have dorms or on-campus housing. Many students live in apartments or home stays within the vicinity of the college.

Woodland Hills is a neighborhood in Los Angeles located in the San Fernando Valley. Other neighborhoods and cities that surround Woodland Hills include: Tarzana, Canoga Park, Reseda, West Hills, Northridge, Winnetka, and Calabasas. One of the benefits of living in the San Fernando Valley is that rent and housing expenses can be more affordable than other parts of the Los Angeles Metropolitan area. Popular attractions, like beaches and amusement parks, are just a short drive away by car or public transportation.

If you are not sure where to live, we advise you to make a reservation at a local hotel or motel before you arrive. Upon arrival, you can research neighborhoods and rentals at your convenience.

Public Transportation

If you will be taking public transportation while attending LAPC, visit the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (L.A. Metro) to plan your route. The L.A. Metro Orange Line Bus has a stop in front of LAPC.

Currently enrolled LAPC students may qualify for an L.A. Metro GoPass which allows students to ride the L.A. Metro System for free (subject to change).

Other Information

Once you find a rental you like, take a detailed tour of the property in-person and be sure to review the lease or rental contract before you sign it. The lease is a legally binding contract that covers topics such as the cost of rent, length of term, deposit, utilities, late fees, etc. If you have any questions, ask the property manager or landlord before you sign the lease. It is beneficial to have a lease in place so that both the tenant and the property manager understand the terms of the living agreement.
